CryptocurrencyexchangeGate.iohaspublishedaresearchreportonthecharacteristicsoftheTurkishcryptocurrencymarket,whichprovidesanin-depthstudyofthecryptocurrencymarketinTurkey.TheTurkishgovernmentbannedtheuseofpaymentsthroughcryptocurrencyinApril2021,butinvestmentincryptocurrencywasnotexplicitlyprohibited.ThecryptocurrencymarketinTurkeycontinuestogrowatarapidratedespiteseeminglyunpromisingpolicies,withChainanalysisdatashowinga1,500%growthofTurkishcryptocurrencytransactionsfrom2020to2021.Highinflationratesandadepreciatingcurrencypromptpeopletoeagerlylookfornewinvestmentstocombatcurrencydevaluation.Cryptoassets,nevertheless,appeartobeagoodoption,andtheyarekeentobuystablecoinstopreservetheirwealth.Accordingtotripe-a'scontinuoustrackingoftheglobalcryptocurrencymarket,thenumberofcryptocurrencyusersinTurkeyis3,811,882asof2022,whichisabout4.5%ofitsdomesticpopulation.InVietnam,wherecryptocurrencygainsitsbiggestpopularity,thenumberoflocalusersaccountsfor20.27%ofthetotalpopulation.ThisdatashowsthattheTurkishcryptocurrencymarketstillhasalargeroomforgrowth.WhoaretheTurkishcryptocurrencyusers?Turkishcryptocurrencyinvestorsarepredominantlymalewitha90%share,andascryptocurrencybecomesmoreandmorepopular,asmallnumberofwomenarestartingtoembracecryptocurrencyasoneoftheirinvestmentoptions.Turkishcryptocurrencyinvestorshaveagoodeducationalbackground,with52%ofusershavingabachelor'sdegreeorhigherandonly6%havinglessthanahighschooleducation,whichprovidesasolidfoundationforthemtolearncryptocurrencyinvestment.Intermsoftheageofinvestors,thenumberofyoungandmiddle-agedpeoplebetween25and44yearsoldisthelargest,accountingfor71%ofthetotal.Inaddition,20%oftheinvestorsarebetween18and24yearsold.Duringtheuserinterviews,wefoundthatmanycollegestudentsbecameenthusiasticaboutcryptocurrencyinvestment,andtheyusedtheirsparetimetoattendcryptocurrencylecturesandlearnaboutcryptocurrency.Theythusbelievedtherewouldbeabrightfuturelyingaheadforcryptocurrency.Someuniversitystudentsexpectedtoworkinrelatedfieldstoo.41%ofTurkishcryptocurrencyinvestorsdonothaveastablejob,arefreelancing/unemployed,orworkingpart-time.Therefore,theyhavemoreleisuretimetospecializeincryptocurrency.However,investingincryptocurrencyismorelikeajobtoincreasetheirincomethanjustaninvestment;58%ofinvestorshaveajobwithastableincome.Tothem,cryptocurrencyisaworthyinvestmentopportunity.Theydonothavefreetimetospecializeincryptocurrencyduetotheirdailywork,sotheyhopetheplatformscanprovidedetailedandsystematicdomainknowledgeforthemtorampupcryptocurrencyquickly.CryptocurrencyinvestorsinTurkeyarescatteredinallwalksoflife,with13%ofusersworkinginconstruction-relatedjobsand10%incomputer/mathematics-relatedjobs;Usersworkingincomputer/mathematics-relatedindustriestendtobemoreprofessional,andtheyarefamiliarwiththeprinciplesofcryptocurrencyandvarioustypesoffinancialservicesonmajorexchanges.Someofthemalsowritetheirownprogramstoinvestin.Itisworthnotingthatthepercentageofuserswhoseoccupationiscollegestudentsis6%,whichranks4thamongallcategories.Thisdatashowsthatthegroupofcollegestudentshasaratherbigpotential.WhatistheattitudeofTurkishcryptocurrencyuserstowardinvesting?Speakingofinvestmentattitudes,themajorityofTurkishusersaremainlypronetomedium-risktomedium-return,accountingfor44%respectively,followedbyhigh-risktohigh-return,accountingfor30%.Differentinvestorshavedifferentattitudestowardinvestingincryptocurrency.Basedonthepercentageofhigh-riskandhigh-return,theyoungertheusersare,themoreaggressivetheirinvestmentstyleis,andtheyaremoreacceptingofhigh-riskinvestmentsandhavehigherexpectationsofreturns.Comparedtoothergroups,usersover55yearsoldaremoreinclinedtolow-riskandlow-returninvestments,buttheirrequirementforcapitalpreservationisthelowestamongallpeople.Theoccupationalstatusofuserswillalsoaffecttheirinvestmentattitudes.Amongtheuserswhoexpecthigh-riskandhigh-return,unemployedworkersaccountforthehighestproportion(36%),followedbypart-timeworkers(35%).Itisspeculatedthatthisisrelatedtotheirincome.Theyhaverelativelylowerincomes,sotheylookforwardtohigherreturns.Userswithdoctoralandprofessionaldegreesaremorelikelytoexpecthigh-riskandhigh-return,accountingfor43%and40%respectively;highschool(nodiploma)usersarealsomorelikelytoexpecthigh-riskandhigh-return,accountingfor43%;highschoolgraduatesaremostlikelytoexpectmedium-riskandmedium-return,accountingfor52%;Thisisfollowedbyuserswithbachelor'sdegrees,with50%ofthemexpectingmedium-riskandmedium-return.Whenusersarefirstintroducedtocryptocurrency,theyexpecthigh-riskandhigh-returnfromtheirinvestment.Astheybecomemoreexperienced,theirinvestmentattitudewillleanmoretowardsmedium-riskandmedium-return.Interestingly,whentheyareveryexperiencedandhaveinvestedformorethan5years,theirexpectationofhigh-riskandhigh-returnwillriseagain.IntroductiontoResearchMethodologyThestudyusedanonlinequantitativequestionnaireandin-depthinterviews,withthequantitativequestionnairelastingfromApril8,2022,toMay20,2022.In-depthinterviewscoveredusersofdifferentages/occupations/educationlevels/careerexperiences;Inthisstudy, 動態 | Gate.io官方：ETC網絡51%攻擊者已將價值10萬美金ETC返還Gate.io:Gate.io官方表示，已在1月10日收到了ETC網絡51%攻擊者返還的價值10萬美金的ETC，根據跟蹤發現，還有更多資金返回到其他平臺。Gate.io試圖與攻擊者取得聯系，但尚未收到回復。目前尚不清楚攻擊者發動針對ETC的51%攻擊的具體原因，推測如果不是為了盈利，有可能是為了引起行業對于區塊鏈共識算法和算力保護的重視。

Gate.io研究院分析發現，之前發動51%算力攻擊者的ETC挖礦算力已經撤銷，最近沒有檢測到ETC回滾現象，但有另外的單體ETC礦工算力占比較大且有上升趨勢，并且任何人仍然可以很容易的租賃到足夠的ETC算力對網絡發動51%攻擊。ETC網絡攻擊風險仍然存在，Gate.io已經將ETC充值確認要求提高到5000，并且啟用一套高級51%攻擊監測告警系統抵御外來可能的攻擊。[2019/1/12]
